  1. Scroll

Can not scroll any menus. The first page is there but as soon as I scroll the screen goes black. That goes for all screens. Also as a side not having nothing to do with my review, choosing games over LAN would be awesome.

Just downloaded this app. Should've known better by previous comments. What a waste of space, it crashed like 2 mins after loading up and the screen was blank.

I use to love this emulator but this version is unusable. When I scroll down on my S3 it goes black. Took me awhile to figure out how to access the my SDCard from it and after I figured it out, the games list disapears when I scroll. The all in one was its best feature and now we have to download each one seperatly? making it impossible to keep on and SDCard to side load on a tablet with no Internet access? Yes some parents do that. The double tap feature isn't too bad when it works.
  4. Feels like an early alpha build

This thing is odd. You have to practically triple tap menu items, scrolling breaks from time to time, menu goes blank, and it crashes. GUI should be trashed for MD polymer.
  5. Used to be great

I read the other reviews about how bad this update was but thought I'd be smart enough to manage. Wrong. While I hate the new menu systems, they're navigable by brute force. But really all that matters is the ability to play games. Every game I try to load in pcsx and gpsp crashes retroarch. It's effectively useless.
  6. Still Can't scroll properly

Anytime I scroll, the menu goes black and won't let me select anything. I found a workaround, but its still annoying. Edit: Also Retroarch thinks this is a Nvidia Controller

Whoever decided on these interface changes should be ashamed. When you open the app you are presented with a useless screen where you can "load" or "quit" retroarch. I cannot discern the point of this. Once you load in to the actual app, all the menus now required DOUBLE TOUCH to select. Sometimes the overlay comes up for no apparent reason and it's not easy to tell how to get rid of it. The menus are too deep.
  8. Same as other 1.2.x versions, but poor performance

Update: Giving it 1 more star for responsive developer, though that did not solve it, it brings up an interesting point. I have no tearing issue (only help under that menu) but I did turn off Vsync as it is too costly to performance in this version (always had it on with 0 issues) and turned on hard GPU sync, which still gives no tearing with quite a performance boost(did other things too to get it up to snuff but this was a significant one). Old review: but still applies: BIOS load glitch from 1.2 was fixed in last update. Was easy to workaround. Back button glitch still exists. In addition, this most recent update has slowed performance by 30-40% (benched on PCSX ReARMed by comparing fps and load times at same settings). I have some faith RetroArch team will get this right as they have only made the previously best emulator on the planet, but I do wish they would stop pushing updates via Play before they are ready. Some of us get out of work and just want to unwind to some classic games, not go through 30 minutes plus of reconfiguration to get X new version working every few days. I got this version fast enough with some hacks but the performance drop cannot be ignored.
  9. Was great but crashes on most cores now

I appreciate all your work but not user friendly at all. Terrible interface.. Sorry
  10. Still runs most anything, but far clunkier than before

RetroArch has been an amazing app, but never pretty. While I appreciate the attempt at making a more cohesive design, the current one just isn't pleasant to use, especially for touch. There should really be sliders for things like adjusting button size or simple + and - buttons. Material Design standards might be helpful for this redesign. Done well, they are great for almost any input method as shown by Google apps, and that seems to be the ultimate goal here. Looking forward to future updates:)

I love Retroarch on Windows and had high hopes for the Android version. But it turned out to have the ugliest, most obtuse and least functional interface of any mobile app I've ever used on Android or iOS. It's not a case of function over form. It's form being so bad it drags function down with it.

Love the new style! It's very mobile facing. And everything works (except SEGA CD & PC Engine CD); even PSX & 32X! Keep it up.

Working well on my Sony Xperia E4G. Only thing I must point out is that the analog option does not work as opposed to the directional pad option. Would like to see this problem solved on the next update.

Still missing some cores, but how can I use use drastics's core? I bought it but I kinda like to to have my emulators in one app so I'm wondering if I can use the core? Same with reicast. And on my phone (not my tablet) it crashes on screen after loading retroarch note that my phone is an android 4.0.x and its pretty old

Works perfectly Finally something that runs Virtual Boy Games. Just wish cheats would be implemented so I could get the Timer Unlimited. There is a problem with the Nvidia Shield Portable, where I cant seem to get the controls working right for Virtual Boy. I have to use the On Screen Keys and use the Key Mapping Feature. Also, when I close the Lid and after a while, I open it back up to continue, the App is locked up.
  18. No multi button press supers in fighters

Thanks for fixing previous concerns so quickly but there's another issue. For some reason it never registers when I press multiple buttons at once, touchscreen or external. This is the only emulator I have that problem with. Can you fix this or add the option to map multiple game keys to one physical button? Five stars await....

When ever I scroll the slightest bit it goes through everything even when I don't touch the screen and its not my tablet as it does the same on my little brothers.
  20. Still won't work
    Jessie McDowell
    21/07/15
It crashes before I hit anything. And when it doesn't, and I manage to get to the core updater screen, it won't download anything. When I click on a core, it says downloading, but never does anything. Everyone else seems to think retroarch is the greatest thing since sliced bread, though. So take my review with a grain of salt, because it could just be me or my phone. But I still rate it low because I have no problem at all with other emulators.
